Department of Cinema and TV

In 2010, a new direction "Film and Television Directing" was opened at the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University, the training profile "Director of Feature Films and Television Films" in accordance with the Federal State Standard of Higher Education of the Russian Federation, 07.06.01.
The direction was completely atypical for a classical University, but RAU has always been a promoter of culture and art, was active in cultural and educational activities, and that is why the direction quickly took root, aroused keen interest among applicants.

At present, the chair has 5 leaders of creative workshops - V.R. Gevorgyants, G.J. Movsisyan, A.A. Gevorgyan, E.E. Baghdasaryan, D.A. Babakhanyan.
All of them are well-known directors, members of the Union of Cinematographers of Armenia, who have made their worthy contribution to the development of cinema and television of the Republic of Armenia. Their merits are marked not only by prizes of many international film festivals, but also by significant government awards of the Republic of Armenia.
The teaching staff of the department is also strong, and students receive decent professional knowledge. This, of course, bears fruit, and many students of the program are winners of festivals and competitions not only in Armenia, but also abroad. Interest in this area of the Russian-Armenian University is constantly growing, which is reflected every year in the results of competitive admission.
