Year of creation of the direction "Journalism" at RAU - 1999
The year of creation of the department as part of the IMRC is 2012.

The main areas of training of specialists (bachelor's, master's, postgraduate).
The main tasks and functions of the department are:
organization and implementation of the educational process, educational, methodological, research work in the profile "Journalism" at a level that meets modern requirements;
training of scientific and pedagogical personnel and their advanced training.
The main task of the department, in addition to providing a high theoretical level of training for students, is to form students' practical competencies and familiarize future journalists with the environment in which they will work.
The cornerstone is the understanding of journalism education as a kind of workshop, where from the first step the student not only learns the theoretical foundations of the profession, but also actively masters the specifics of information flows, prepares his own product in the broad sense of the word.  Teaching modern technologies of professional journalism in this vein has become a priority, and this is also the reason for the full-scale implementation of an active/interactive model of learning.

The activities of the department and the educational process in the specialty "Journalism" are divided into 4 main blocks:
Authorship (creation of materials for various types of media.
Production activities (participation in the production process of the production of printed publications, television and radio materials, materials for online media using modern technologies).
Editorial activity (acquiring editing skills, bringing the text in line with the requirements for publication on various information resources).
Organizational and managerial activities (organization of the work of the media, press conferences and other media events, creative team, regional branches of international media).

The department consists of scientific and pedagogical workers:

Graduate students.
Leading experts in the field, current practitioners who combine teaching and scientific activities with work in various publications and media, are well-known journalists, political scientists, screenwriters, producers, PR technologists, jury members of various festivals and competitions, etc., who have solid practical experience in the media sphere, are involved in the work.
Teachers of the department are actively engaged in research activities, participating in scientific conferences at the international, republican, regional levels.

Scientific activities of the department
Research work is carried out in a number of areas:
The problems of covering key social, political, economic and cultural issues in the agenda of the Armenian media.

Peculiarities and Patterns of Development of Media System and Journalism in Armenia
The Functioning of the RA Media in the Context of the Development of Interactive Media
Genres and formats in the media system of Armenia.
Features and Problems of Creating Television Informational, Analytical and Other Programs.
The Process of Convergence in the Media System and Its Impact on Modern Armenian Journalism
Features of the formation and activity of the advertising policy of the media, etc.
The department directs its main efforts to ensure not only the theoretical training of students, but also to the acquisition of practical skills in the field of journalism, and the study of relevant, little-studied problems of the media sphere are set as priorities for course, diploma, master's and candidate's theses.
The department focuses students on the creation of specific reporter, investigative, research journalistic products. The choice of topics is carried out by the management of the department together with teachers with the direct participation of the students themselves.
The department expands interaction with the media, provides students with internships and internships in leading local and international media - starting from the first year and throughout the entire educational process. For this purpose, the capabilities of the RAU Television Studio are also used to the maximum.
The Chair of Journalism of RAU and MKR-Media Armenia is implementing a joint project of the weekly youth radio program "Generation Che" live on Radio Marshall. The project started on February 3, 2017 and the program is consistently aired live on Fridays, at 15:00. The program also has its own page on the social network Facebook "Radio RAU - Generation CHE - Radio Marshall" and is widely replicated on the Web. Undergraduates and undergraduate students are involved in the work.
The department cooperates with a number of media, organizations and leading universities in Russia and Armenia.

Education
In 2006 she graduated with honors from the Faculty of Journalism of the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) State University (RAU) with a degree in Journalism.
From 2006 to 2009 – postgraduate studies.
In 2010 she defended her Ph.D. thesis, was awarded the degree of Candidate of Philological Sciences by the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Armenia (certificate number "Ա No05169").

Professional Experience
From 2012 to 2017 she was a lecturer at the Scientific and Educational Center for Information and Communication Technologies of Yerevan Brusov State University of Languages and Social Sciences.
From 2010 to 2018, she was a senior specialist at the Public Relations and Information Center of the Office of the President of the Republic of Armenia.
From 2012 to 2018, she wrote her own column "What Got on the Web" of the "Golos Armenii" newspaper, which presented a weekly analysis of key developments in the blogosphere, actively cooperated with various media in Armenia.
From 2016 to the present day, she has been the Head of the Department of Journalism at the Russian-Armenian University (RAU).
From 2018 to the present day - cooperation with the international agency and radio "Sputnik Armenia".
